A Woman After God's Heart
Sherpherd's Hand is a non-profit organization, and extension of TMI. Our purpose is to help redirect the lives of young adults and women in crisis. This is done to bring them into a well balanced life that will allow them to live a healthy life style and find freedom in Christ.
Founder and TMI Assistant Presiding Prelate, Bishop Glenda L. McCorkle was born and raised in Hickory, North Carolina, where she is a lifelong resident. She is the daughter of the late Alfred and Flora Horton McCorkle. She is the mother of two sons; Jamar Covington and the late Jelani McCorkle. She is the proud grandmother of seven grandchildren.
Bishop McCorkle is a graduate of Hickory High School. She obtained her cosmetologist license from Caldwell Community College and shortly thereafter founded Blessed Creations Hair Salon. After years of running a successful business, she decided to accept a position in customer services, where she presently works as an Area Supervisor at Kohl’s, Inc. in Hickory, North Carolina.
Growing up in a Christian environment, she watched her mother strive to meet the needs of the community. While watching her mother minister to those in need, it never crossed her mind that she would one day do the same in her community. As she began her journey of faith, Bishop McCorkle, Glenda has had an opportunity to be reared in the AME Zion, Baptist and Holiness Church.
Bishop McCorkle currently attends Prophetic School at Miracles Ministries of Hickory, North Carolina under Apostle David J Short.
In 2010, Bishop Jeffery York, Senior Pastor and Apostle Brian T. Long, Pastor of Kingdom Life Assembly ordained as an Elder in the Lord’s Church. In 2014, Apostle Brian T. Long, Presiding Prelate of Transformation Ministries International thought it not robbery to consecrate her as a Bishop in the Lord’s Church, where she served as the General Secretary. In 2016, Bishop McCorkle was positioned as the Assistant Presiding Prelate over Transformation Ministries International.
Bishop McCorkle is the visionary for “Shepherd’s Hand” a ministry that God gave her in June 2003. The vision of Shepherd’s Hand is coming to pass one phase at a time. Glenda’s favorite scripture you will always find her saying is Nehemiah 8:10,” The joy of the Lord is my strength”-and her will, her love of the Lord, her patience and her strength, she will continue on in a mighty way for the lord.
